WHAT IS MY IDEAL CLASS?
ENTRY LEVEL 1
Suitable for those with no prior ballet experience.
Have you dreamed about learning ballet but thought you’d “missed the boat”? You haven’t! If you have the desire, EL1 is the perfect class to bring ballet into your life in a safe, steady and supported way.
ENTRY LEVELS 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6
Beginner Level classes which assume basic to moderate understanding of terminology and steps.
If you have some ballet experience and depending on the time since you’ve attended classes, one of these levels could be ideal to reconnect you with classical technique and terminology. Entry Levels 2 to 6 are thoughtfully structured to teach and reinforce the foundations of classical technique. The classes are carefully paced so won’t overwhelm you as you bring ballet back into your life.
PROGRESSIVE LEVEL 1
Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 2 years of adult ballet or 5 years training in earlier days.
Have you been attending classes recently? Are you confident with ballet terminology? Would you be comfortable with pirouette technique included in your class? PL1 could be your ideal home. Or….. If your training in earlier days was extensive and you’ve only been away from ballet for ten to fifteen years, then PL1 is a lovely place to start bringing ballet back into your life.
PROGRESSIVE LEVEL 2
Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 3 years of adult ballet or 6 years training in earlier days.
You are really moving along in PL2! Have you been attending classes recently and enjoy a class with enough content to inspire but not overwhelm? Do you enjoy enchaînements that uplift your “dancer’s soul”, without being so demanding that you’re tied up in remembering what step comes next? Then PL2 will be ideal for you.
PROGRESSIVE LEVEL 3
Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 4 years of adult ballet or 7 years training in earlier days.
You know what you’re doing when you’re in PL3! You are an experienced adult ballet dancer and enjoy a challenge in your class, though there is still space to learn and grow.
PROGRESSIVE LEVEL 4
Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 5 years of adult ballet or 8 years training in earlier days.
PROGRESSIVE LEVEL 5
Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 6 years of adult ballet or 9 years training in earlier days.
PROGRESSIVE LEVEL 6
A challenging class! Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 7 years of adult ballet or 10 years training in earlier days.
Oh the bliss of batterie! The fun of fouettés! The joy of jetés! If your classical ballet experience is extensive and your technique is established and strong, the freedom found in PL6 will make your heart sing!
