I was 3 years old when I started Ballet.
I loved it, but as I got more involved in other sports, I decided to leave at age 13.
15 years passed…..
…I always wondered if I could get back on pointe?
This is my ‘why.’ Why, I choose to come to class and dance.
I truly love the space created at Elancé. It is an all-encompassing environment, made to inspire.
Pictures of principle dancers line the wallsof the studio & I can’t help but wonder during class, what their journey was like to perform at an elite level?
There are no clocks in the room, it is my meditation. In this fast paced world, I like that I dedicate time, simply to moving my body to classical music.
I decided to begin back at the very start. It helped me get my ‘ballet brain’ back and connect the movements with my body, slowly growing my confidence.
I felt somewhat robotic in the beginning, but soon caught myself dancing to the music & smiling quietly at my progress.
I was surprised how quickly my strength, posture, grace and love for the dance returned.
If you are thinking about it, I encourage you to explore it.
It has now been 5years since returning.
Our class is filled with people of all ages, backgrounds, experience and style…but we all begin with Plies & end with Grand Allegro, together.
We are a learning and developing group of adults with no judgement, no stress to perform, no rehearsals, no pressure….just dance.
The teachers are so patient, helpful and experienced. Each brings their unique flare and talent to the groups.
This is why I chose Elancé to practice what I love.
